An important visit to the Uffizi.

A few days ago Moro Kuri Slim made a stop in Florence, accompanied by his splendid girlfriend. Mr. Slim is the heir of one of Mexico’s best known and richest personalities, Carlos Slim.

Carlos Slim who for several years has excelled in the Forbes ranking as one of the richest men in the world, and is still today certainly the most authoritative entrepreneur in Mexico, if not one of the most prominent in the world. However, Mr. Slim is also known for his artistic passion, so much that as a collector he has put together true masterpiece collections, especially of modern and contemporary art. And his son Moro Kuri apparently among other passions could only follow this for art.

However, more than the contemporary, Moro Slim seems to prefer the art of the Ancient Masters, so much so that among the first visit  he attended in  Florence, was a visit to the Uffizi, where he could rely on two very well prepared and very prestigious guides.

Below we can see it in this photo together with his partner and other friends is Prof. Cristina Acidini, President of the Academy of the Arts of Design and already superintendent in Florence, and with Alessandro Cecchi, former Director of the Casa Buonarroti.

In particular, Mr. Slim is fascinated – like many art lovers around the world – of the figure and work of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, and it is no coincidence that among this private group there were those who organized the Florence visit and who have been engaged for some time in the realization of the exhibition event that will bring the great Lombard master, that is Gianluca Gaudio and Francesco Moretti, to Monte-Carlo for the first time.

The event – scheduled for next summer – aptly entitled The Power of Light – is organized by the Gaudio Group based in the Principality of Monaco. This important exhibition will surely have global media impact, considering the special importance of Caravaggio. This major exhibition will give the citizens of the Principality and across the world the opportunity to verify visually the strength of a Master that revolutionized the history of art.
